Tara Holmes Therapy
“If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can't survive.”

Welcome
Hello, I’m Tara. I offer a safe and confidential private psychotherapy and counselling practice in Manchester and the High Peak. I provide face-to-face therapy alongside online and telephone sessions across the UK.
Whether you’re facing a new problem or one that keeps coming back, I’m here to listen without judgement and to be alongside you as you consider your next steps.
There might be more than one reason why you are seeking therapy. Whatever the challenges you’re facing, we can try to make sense of what is happening for you and find a new way forward.
Do get in touch for a free telephone conversation to discuss whether therapy might be beneficial for you.
Before becoming a therapist, I was a senior journalist at the BBC. Helping others to find their voice has always felt like a calling to me. Moving into psychotherapy, after many years in journalism, felt like a natural transition and shapes how I work with clients. I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy.

My training is in Integrative Psychotherapy. In short, this means I have more than one way of working with and understanding people who come to therapy.
